Spring migration is beginning to kick into full swing, and we will meet the birds on the move at Middle Run Natural Area near Newark, DE. Birds like Broad-winged Hawks, Red-shouldered Hawks, and Common Loons will be flying north, joined by colorful warblers and vireos freshly-arrived from South America. Explore this wonderful county park and hike new Middle Run Birding Trail.
If we’re lucky we’ll see some White-eyed Vireos like this one!

Directions:
From Newark, take Route 72 (Paper Mill Road), north to intersection with Possum Park Road. (Shell Gas Station on right). Turn right onto Possum Park Road, and then make an immediate left onto Possum Hollow Road. Travel .7 mile and turn left onto gravel driveway at sign labeled “Middle Run Valley Natural Area” Follow driveway to the circular parking lot at the end. The group will meet in the parking lot.
